A challenging race that requires strength and skill and involves teams of “rollers” who have to push empty 500-litre wooden barrels along the paving of Suvereto's old centre. The event is part of the national Città del Vino circuit. There are two occasions for attending this event: the Palio di Santa Croce in spring; and the Palio dell'Imperatore on 13 August.
