Valley and hills

An easy route that reveals the wide Val di Cornia valley, going further afield than route 4 (which is not practicable when the river Cornia is flooded). The first part of the route follows the harmonious landscape between Suvereto and the Metalliferous Hills. Vineyards are a constant feature of this short but particularly lovely journey that runs through the hamlets of San Lorenzo and Casalappi. At Cafaggio, you cross the provincial road and move into the hills that characterise the landscape between Campiglia Marittima and Suvereto. A short stretch on a dirt track leads back to the Suvereto plains.
